rate my paragon
Hi!
I only recently came upon the Nolani Academy, and I gotta say I'm impressed - there's some of you who really know their trade. You got me inspired and so I sacrificed an evening of GW to do a little drawing myself.
so, here's my lil (ok, maybe not so lil^^) girl, Eryn Shadowbane... made look more like a warrior than the frail creature she is
lord, the scan is bad... my scanner is going to pieces
tell me what you think (I know I'm shit with hands and feet so i mostly hide them )
and no, I'm not taking commissions at the moment cause I'm presently struggling to complete my diploma

Aye those breasts are too large..(mostly the left one for the viewer) hands are a tad bit too small, skirt should be a bit more horizontal. Wings.. well I don't know what angels look like ^^ they just don't seem right to me.
contrast = awesome, legs = awesome.. you could have worked the feet away a bit more gently..
Overall pretty good! (note: I'm not a brilliant artist, but I like to give comments)
keep it up!

You don't have to be an artist to see if a picture is good or not.
And to Morag D, that's pretty nice. I congratulate you for using a ruler to draw the spear. Something many people would just completelly skip on even though it's pretty essential. I like her legs, they look like she's strong and not as skinny as some of the ingame models. I also like the lineart color, it's nice to see some other color than just gray pencil. Overall very pretty and balanced picture.
Personally I'm not a big fan of 'wings' since that's a very common trend in fantasy art but they are part of the Paragon deal and I know they are fun to draw. Good stuff!

thx for the first comments
yeah, I realize I might have overdone the boobs a lil - but hey, it's fantasy (and no, I'm not a guy ) and concerning the mist around her feet... it was quite late already and I wanted to get it done. I'll think of something else^^
as to straight lines: I'm actually not a fan of rulers, cause I do architectural design a lot and don't think that superstraight lines are fit for free drawing... but if it works, why not - I also work a lot with transparent paper to try out different things without spoiling the original - everything's allowed

3 minor crits:
- The pose is quite static
- Oversized boobs
- Doesn't look like a lil' girl to me
Other than that, awesome piece

Very nice. I love monochrome.
i think she needs her feet though?
Ya i have a tendency to draw like that too...but the feet anchor the figure down, right now she seems kinda floaty (and her wings arent helping with that)
btw: The artist whos picture you got your avatar from sent a cease and desist to my friend who used one of those as her avatar....so you may wanna be careful ;P

thx... damn those avatar pages, you'd think that if you get your avatar there, copyright disputes should have been settled

FYI, pages like that primarily steal avatars from wherever. It's especially the internet where legal issues can be easily dodged because you just can't control it so no one cares. I've seen avatars made be me being used by other people without them ever knowing or caring...^^;

Update:
I now pushed myself to finally trying out Photoshop coloring and to my big surprise it didn't turn out so bad
(right one being my paragon's original skin color but she kinda looks spooky with it...)

Very nice drawings. Not much of an artist, but I'd never be able to do something like that

I dunno about the breasts being too large--I mean, if that was a t-shirt, sure, that'd be unnatural--but this is metal plating. It's got some volume.
I personally think you should try a more dynamic pose. Paragons are loaded with them, just watch your character some time.

I was actually trying to make her look like a statue of Pallas Athene. But u're right, the pose could be a lil more exciting^^ still, I like the 'calm power'

maybe some nice mod could change the thread name to 'Morag's sketchbook' - gracias!
I've done some other GW-related pics lately - yes, mainly because of the inspiration I got from this forum
Here's the mesmer of a friend of mine:
